There are many theories and methods on how to overcome a hard human heart. Evidence of the variety of these theories and methods can be seen by observing church services and seeing how each church aims to have hard hearts be changed. Sadly, many churches use all types of methods that aim to change people without using the only true source of change which is God himself.
Kevin DeYoung (@RevKevDeYoung) reminds us about in this tweet from August 17, 2017, when he wrote: A hard human heart is not overcome with gimmicks and gadgets and cheap tricks. It is only conquered by the word of God and prayer.
May we pray for more churches that depend of God’s Word and prayer rather than attempting to use gimmicks, gadgets, and cheap tricks to change hearts.
