If the Bible truly is the Word of God, then it would make sense that we would want to interpret it correctly because a correct interpretation leads to knowing God better. However, a wrong interpretation can lead to assuming we know what God says while at the same time misconstruing what the Bible actually says. This points to the benefit of having accessible and easily readable books about interpreting the Bible. These are all reasons by 40 Questions About Interpreting the Bible is a recommended Resource.

This book includes 40 chapters divided into 4 parts:  Part 1: Getting Started: Text, Canon, and Translation. Part 2: Approaching the Bible Generally. Part 3: Approaching Specific Texts. Part 4: Issues in Recent Discussion.

The author was my greek professor for two courses and is very practical in his teaching approach. This book is useful for personal growth, answering questions you might have, and can even be academically stimulating.
